Treatment Aftercare
-
Cleansing:
· Gently cleanse your face twice a day
Recommend product from KBB: Ultra –Gentle Cleansing Lotion
· Please do not pick or pull your skin at any time after your peel, as it can cause scarring. Your skin will take about 4 to 7 days to completely peel depending on the strength of the peel or treatment you received. Chemical peel on body, chest, or arms often takes longer (up to 3 weeks). If you don’t see evidence of flaking – be assured, you still were exfoliated – you just didn’t have a layer of skin that was in need of coming off just then.
· Please do not exfoliate using a cleansing brush or any facial scrub or acid-based products for 2 weeks; longer if peel is done on body.
Recommended product for after Advanced Treatment for gentle exfoliation: B3 Enzyme Exfoliating Creme
· Do not use any products that contain AHA, Glycolic, Retin-A, Retinols or any acne medication until your skin has finished peeling (usually 7 days, but possibly longer).
· Keep skin well hydrated by drinking at least three 8-ounce glasses of water per day, and moisturizing throughout the day with a good moisturizer (Lira’s Recovery Balm for more advanced healing) both day and night. Reapply throughout the day as often as needed. Your skin should never be so dry that it is cracking or sore.
Recommended product for Advanced Treatment Aftercare moisturizing: Calming Bio-Lipid Repair Creme
· Refrain from waxing, or sun exposure for minimum 2 weeks.
· Avoid working out and sweating for at least 24 hours and up to 48 hours. If you do something that gets your core temp up – it will make the area where there was chemical – feel temporarily activated again. Use cold washcloth draped on the face to cool off.
Recommended Re-towels from Coast to Coast Sustainable Solutions – flannel, soft and gentle perfect for post Advanced Treatment.
· If your skin becomes itchy at any time, you may use a 1% hydrocortisone cream (any brand).
· Finally, use SPF 30 or higher consistently throughout the day. REAPPLY, REAPPLY, REAPPLY, for this will limit your skin from burning in the sun (even when it’s cloudy out or when sitting by a window) and will minimize the chances of more sun damage and discoloration. We have so many SPFs for you to choose from – tinted to clear.
Recommended SPF for post Advanced Treatment: Jane Iredale powdered SPF & KBB Solar Defender SPF 30

Keep your glow going by following these tips!
HOW LONG WILL MY SPRAY TAN LAST?
Depending on your skin type, JMT Sunless solutions will produce a tan that lasts between 8 to 12 days. Like a suntan, the sunless tan will fade gradually as your skin exfoliates. However, you can extend the life of your tan by using moisturizers daily. Prior to getting a sunless tan your skin should be clean and exfoliated. Taking care of your skin both before and after the sunless tanning process will alleviate any uneven fading. Due to the formulation of the QuickDry Airbrush Tan the color will fade a little closer to 6-8 days when choosing that formula.HOW CAN I MAXIMIZE MY SPRAY TAN?
Limit physical activity for 8-12 hours following a sunless session. No shower or getting wet for at least 6 hours after tanning, unless they have been sprayed with a Rapid Tan solution, then follow showering guidelines on the product. DHA continues to react with the amino acids of the skin for up to 12 hours. A tan extending lotion will help the tan to last longer. The time of year can affect the skin, which can affect the tan. Moisturizing the skin is very important! Long hot baths or long showers are great for pre-tan exfoliation, but can cause the tan to fade prematurely. A soft cloth for washing is best with a spray tan. Pat dry after showering or bathing.WILL MY SPRAY TAN MAKE ME ORANGE?
Two factors will tint the skin orange. (1) Inexpensive DHA being used in the sunless solution. Quality matters, here at KBB we use JMT Sunless products, which contain high-quality ECO COMPLIANT DHA that has been perfectly balanced with all other ingredients in the sunless solution. (2) Fair skinned clients should not use a high level of DHA. Too much DHA on the wrong skin type will give the illusion of a fake tan or an orange tint. The darker the skin, the higher the level of DHA that can be sprayed.
DOES MY SPRAYTAN PROTECT ME FROM THE SUN?
NO! NO! and NO! Spray tanning does NOT contain any SPF and CANNOT protect the skin from the sun. We recommend everyone use sunscreen on a daily basis and especially when you will be out in the sun.
HOW OFTEN CAN I GET A SPRAY TAN?
Tanning can be performed about every seven days if desired. Ideally you want to let your previous color wear off before applying more. We recommend the client's skin be exfoliated of any prior spray tan just before getting a new sunless tan. Spray tanning back-t- back on the same day is not advised, as it does not give the DHA time to set between tans. DHA can be very drying to the skin and cause uneven fading or freckling as the tan fades when too much DHA is sprayed on the skin over a short time frame.
HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO GET A SPRAY TAN BEFORE REACHING MY DESIRED COLOR?
Everyone's skin type and coloring is unique. A person will be tan after just one sunless session, but they may want to up the level of DHA being used if they would like to achieve a darker tan on their next sunless session.
WILL MY SPRAY TAN CAUSE FRECKLES?
No, in fact in most cases, freckles & blemishes will become less pronounced because the lighter skin areas are darkened by the sunless solution so the skin appears more even.
HOW ABOUT SHAVING/WAXING AFTER MY SPRAY TAN?
A sharp, clean razor with a lubricating product is best. Avoid hair removal products and harsh soaps. Anti-acne, anti-aging and makeup removal products can cause the tan to fade. Avoid exfoliating scrubs, facial masks and toners containing alcohol. Swimming in a chlorinated pool or hot tub can cause the tan to fade prematurely. A thick, rich application of sunblock prior to swimming may reduce fading. Waxing can also remove color along with hair and dead skin cells. -
FIRST 24 HOURS AFTER LIFT/LAMINATION:
The great thing about a Lash Lifts and Brow Laminations is that they are very low maintenance procedures. However, there is a little extra care required over the first 24-48hrs.Be gentle with your lashes and/or brows; no rubbing.Do not get your lashes or brows wet for the first 24 hrs.Do not use harsh products on your eyes/lashes/brows.No Sauna/Steam for 24 hours. Sauna/Steam is possible after 24 hours but may weaken the effect of the lift.No eye make-up for 24 hours.Avoid waterproof mascara for the life of the lash lift.Swimming should be avoided for at least 24hrs.Chlorine can shorten the life of your lift & lamination.Do not use oil-based products or any conditioning treatments/serums on the lashes or brows.GENERAL AFTERCARE:
As your Lash Lift grows out and your lashes are going through their normal growth cycles, you may notice (usually towards the 6th week or more) that some lashes are twisted over the side and/or look a bit "frazzled". This is just the remains of the Lift growing out. This is NOT permanent. Using the recommended conditioning serum for lash/brow will help minimize this.Although rare, sometimes adverse/allergic reactions can happen. If you experience any irritated and/or swollen eyes, rinse your eyes out thoroughly with water, take a Benadryl or anti histamine, and apply acold compress. But DO NOT RUB your eyes as this will cause way more irritation. If this does not help, seek medical attention.Above all else, if for some reason there is something about your Lash Lift that you don't like or that seems wrong, deep breath. This is not an exact science and with certain lash types, it can take a few attempts with different lash lift techniques to find the right one for you. Everyone’s lashes are different. If the result is something that you absolutely can't live with, contact the spa and we'll have you pop in to take a look and make any necessary adjustments if possible. Otherwise, just be sure to let us know any questions you have on your next visit.PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS:
We will provide you with a clean spoolie (mascara brush) to take home with you. Because your lashes/brows are still malleable (shape shifting) within the first day or two, a side sleeper/face sleeper can notice changes to the curl upon waking. Use a spoolie brush to straighten back out the curl pattern, It's just a good idea to use that brush every morning after you wash your face, just to further encourage a consistent curl pattern and better grow out. -
Post Procedure Instructions for Eyebrows, Lip blushing, and Eyeliner.
Immediately Following Procedure:
Area may be red, slightly swollen and have a tight feeling.
Pat the area with a clean, dry tissue as needed.
As healing begins, it will become itchy. Do not scratch the area, gently tap the area instead.

Days 1-7+ Following the Procedure:
Apply provided aftercare ointment 3x/day for the next 1-5 days with a clean cotton swab, especially before any sweating. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The product should be barely noticeable on the skin.
Do not apply topical make-up over the area for a minimum of 3 days.
Gently cleanse procedure area daily. You may rinse with water and lightly pat the area dry.
Absolutely no scrubbing and no products containing chemicals like glycolic, lactic, retinol, Retin A, etc.
Do not rub or pick at the epithelial crust, or scabs that may form, allow it to flake off on its own.
Limit showers to 5 minutes to avoid excess steam and do not expose treated area to the full pressure of the shower water for 3 days.
Do NOT use the Sauna or Steam room.
Do not soak treated area in bath, swimming pool or hot tub.
Do not swim in fresh water, saltwater or chlorinated pool water at any time during the healing process.
Do not expose the treated area to the sun or tanning bed while in the healing process.
Ensure the procedure area has healed before applying sunscreen.
No facials, Botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
Failure to follow post-treatment instructions may cause loss of pigment, discoloration or infection.
Remember, colors appear bolder and more sharply defined immediately following the procedure. As the healing progresses, color will soften. A touch-up procedure will be necessary 6 weeks after your initial appointment. This allows your skin tissues to heal before we apply more strokes and color to the area.

To ensure maximum comfort and benefit after the treatment, it is important to follow the steps below at home:
Avoid applying heat to the waxed area for 12 to 24 hours. This includes hot baths, sauna, and steam.
Use an anti-acne lotion for face, back and chest following the treatment and twice a day until breakouts are gone. Use only an anti-acne product recommended by your skin care professional.
Avoid sun tanning for at least 24 hours. This includes any strong ultraviolet (UV) light exposure or tanning bed treatments.
Avoid applying highly fragranced products to the waxed area. This includes, perfume, scented body lotions, anti-perspirants, cosmetics, or feminine hygiene sprays. Only use professional products, recommended to you by the skin care therapist who performed the waxing service
Avoid using harsh abrasives or exfoliants in the waxed area. However, if you are prone to in-grown hairs, the day after your waxing treatment, exfoliate newly waxed area with a loofah to avoid future problems. Small circular motions will keep skin from blocking the pore. Continue this exfoliation pattern as hair starts to grow back in.
Avoid applying high SPF sunblock to the waxed area for 12-24 hours after the waxing service. Sunscreen chemicals can be irritating to the newly waxed skin. This includes self-tanning products and tan accelerators.
Any pinking of the skin should disappear within 6 to 8 hours after the waxing treatment. Pinking is normal, and indicates that the hair was removed from the root, rather than superficially broken off, as in shaving. This is the reason that professional waxing lasts so much longer.
For best results, repeat your professional waxing every 4 to 6 weeks depending on the area and your individual hair growth rate. For certain areas on the body, if you come in regularly, you will be moved to maintenance waxing prices and your cost goes down.

Plan to do this treatment when you can leave the oils in your hair. Lay a towel down on your pillow and leave overnight.
Time will break down the oils that remain in your hair. Trying to wash the oils from your hair before a minimum of 3 hours can be difficult.
When ready to remove, apply conditioner to your hair 10 minutes before your shower. After that sits on the hair proceed with your showering routine like normal.
Enjoy luxurious hair for weeks to come!
